Beware of Unauthorized Address Changes
We have recently been made aware of Medicare beneficiaries’ addresses being changed with the Social Security Administration and Medicare without the knowledge of the beneficiary. Please be aware that if someone has your name, Social Security number and date of birth, they can make an address change through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services or the Social Security website without your knowledge. There is an alert that can be set up through the Social Security website should anyone try to change your address without your consent.
It is not our policy to request your Social Security number, bank account number or credit card information on calls we make to our members. If you receive a call like this please do not provide any information to the caller; instead, report the incident to us.
You can report potential fraud by:
Calling the Customer Service number on your Member ID card.
