Important Information Regarding Prescription Drug Benefit Claims Processing
As a reminder, we are transitioning all pharmacy benefit management services from MedImpact to Express Scripts Inc. effective January 1, 2017. Those services include claims processing and pharmacy network contracting. Mail order services successfully transitioned to Express Scripts January 1, 2016. As a result of this transition new ID cards will be issued to all members with pharmacy benefits.
Our pharmacy management team will continue to oversee and manage ongoing strategies, formulary management and integrated care management programs. Our team will also continue to support your account management team to support your clients with trend management programs and benefit consultation. In short, we remain the service lead to your clients. We will NOT be utilizing Express Scripts prescription drug formularies.
We anticipate most pharmacies that currently participate in the MedImpact network will participate in Express Scripts network. These pharmacies are familiar with our members; the only change will be where the claim is electronically routed via BIN/PCN/GRP numbers. Express Scripts’ participating pharmacies will also receive a sample of our member ID cards to help identify our members and the BIN/PCN/GRP. Members will notice a change in appearance for several of our popular features on the Prescription Drug section of our web site. Changes include viewing drug benefits and claims, comparing drug costs and locating pharmacies.
