New Member Cards to Be Issued to Members with Pharmacy Benefits
We will transition all pharmacy benefit management services from MedImpact to Express Scripts Inc. effective January 1, 2017. Those services include claims processing, pharmacy network contracting, and mail order pharmacy.
As a result of this transition, a new 2017 Member Card will be issued to all members with pharmacy benefits containing Express Scripts information needed by pharmacies to process claims through Express Scripts.
The following outlines when members may receive their Member Card upon their employer group’s renewal:
- Groups with renewal dates of February 1, 2016 – October 1, 2016 will have their new Member Cards effective January 1, 2017 sent in early November.
- Groups with renewal dates of November 1, 2016 – December 1, 2016 will have their current 2016 Member Cards sent upon renewal completion and their new 2017 cards sent in mid-December.
- Groups with a January 1, 2017 renewal date who have not submitted changes by December 1 will have their 2017 Member Cards issued based on current product structure. If changes are made after December 1, members “may” get another set of 2017 Member Cards depending on when the renewal has been received.
All 2017 member cards will have an insert enclosed explaining the reason for the new cards and instructions for use.
