Fearless is Having the Right Partner

An update on the Affordable Care Act. As promised, the repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is a major undertaking by the President and Congress.

While portions of the ACA could be disassembled at the Federal level, New York State will have to evaluate any new legislation to determine impacts at the state level. And though it is possible some changes could be implemented in 2017, it is expected that most changes will not take place until 2018 or later to ensure market stability.

So while this is an uncertain time in our industry, we want you to know that our leadership team is closely monitoring any potential actions coming from Washington and Albany.  We are engaged in discussions at both the Federal and State level and have an executive level Steering Committee reviewing potential impacts of proposed legislative changes. When there is any new, meaningful information to share, you will be the first to know.

For now, we are all operating under the existing rules and laws. Our mission is about access to care, and we will continue to conduct our business in a manner that is competitive and prudent. As the leading insurer in upstate New York, we’ve taken the worry out of healthcare for more than 80 years, and we will continue that mission on behalf of our members.
