COBRA Benefits for Community Rated Groups
As Community Rated Medical Groups renew throughout 2018, they will begin to receive COBRA administrative services through Lifetime Benefit Solutions (LBS). If your group has already renewed in 2018, they are receiving COBRA services through LBS unless the group has chosen to opt out of the services. If your group has Excellus BCBS Dental coverage along with Medical, COBRA will be administered for the Dental group as well. Stand-alone Excellus BCBS Dental plans are excluded at this time.
COBRA administration services provided by LBS include:
- Qualifying event-related COBRA notification and/or extensions
- Member billing, collection and premium payment back to Excellus BCBS
- Member online access to account
Letters were sent to the groups and current COBRA members from LBS notifying them of these services.
