Did You Know…Each Producer in your Agency Should be Appointed Individually?
Getting an individual appointed is easy. Just five things are needed for each agent when the agency is already appointed:
- Application for individual agent
- Personal History Certification for agent
- Copies of NYS Life, Accident & Health License for agent
- Copy of current E & O certificate listing the agency or agent
- Acknowledgement of Broker Code of Conduct
Each agent can get the appropriate access. Some people on your team may just need access to the rates and products on Blue on Demand, while others may also need to see commission statements and other administrative reports. Other agents may have access to Information Connection and reporting through “The Cube.” When each agent is individually appointed, they can register for the access appropriate to their duties.
When an agent leaves your agency, their access can be termed without disruption to other employees. When employees share a login, passwords need to be changed each time one of them leaves. If not, they may still be able to see your information after they’ve gone to work for your competitor. In addition, if the exiting agent who leaves is the one who has the login, no one else will have access after their account is terminated.
Shared logins can create confusion and give inappropriate access to information. The only way to avoid sharing logins is to appoint each agent individually. In addition, appointed brokers can answer broker surveys. This gives them a greater voice when we look for feedback.
