New Generics Can Save Your Clients Money

The cost of prescription drugs has skyrocketed and continues to rise. To save money, you should talk to your doctor about using a generic drug in place of a brand name drug. Generic drugs are safe, effective, and approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The latest brand name drugs to go generic are Valcyte (valganciclovir) and  Zomig (zolmitriptan). Valcyte is used for viral infections and Zomig is used to treat migraines. Both are scheduled to become available as generics in the coming months.

The next time your doctor gives you a prescription, ask if there is a generic instead of a brand drug that will treat your condition.
