Enrollment Help is Available for Individuals without Employer Group Coverage
Plan Certified Application Counselors (CACs) are available to assist individuals who do not have employer group coverage in working through, gaining knowledge of, and applying for health insurance coverage through the New York State of Health Marketplace or directly through Excellus BlueCross BlueShield. CACs can also help anyone applying for Medicaid/Medicaid Managed Care and Child Health Plus coverage.
As a reminder, enrollment can take place at any time for Medicaid/Medicaid Managed Care and Child Health Plus. Enrollment for the individual market normally takes place during the annual open enrollment period (November 15 - February 15, 2015). Individuals can also apply throughout the year if they qualify for a special enrollment period (divorce, birth, move, loss of coverage, etc.).
