June is National Men’s Health Month
The purpose of Men's Health Month is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys.
Thankfully most men’s health threats are preventable. Encourage the men in your life to make healthy lifestyle choices including eating healthy and engaging in physical activity on a regular basis.
- Routine checkups and screening tests are important for men to stay in good health
- Excessive thirst? Rash or sore? Shortness of breath? These are just a few of the symptoms men should pay attention to. If they occur, see a doctor right away
- Get plenty of sleep, avoid smoking and limit alcohol intake
- Complete a health care proxy if you are 18 or older
