I embrace change by first accepting that I am out of my comfort zone and it’s a good thing! I seek out and am open to new perspectives. Most importantly, I’m not afraid of something new because it could be amazing!

What are you most proud of?
I am proud of being a St. John Fisher College Alumna, holding an elected board position on the Rochester Affiliate of the National Human Resources Association for the past few years, and obtaining my Professional HR Certification.

What do you do for fun?
In my free time, I am either wrapped up in a home improvement project with my husband, spending time with my puppy (a West Highland Terrier), or relaxing by the lake!

Change happens every hour of every day, so I always look to how I can learn and grow from change and strive to help others see the positive side of change (even when change is difficult).

What challenges you?
Patience can be a challenge at times. It means being humble, listening and acknowledging other’s thoughts and perspectives. I tend to want to jump right into action – balancing the desire to take action and having patience can be a challenge for me at times.

How have you embraced change?
Change is inevitable – and it can be a good thing! You can either fight against it or join in the movement and add your contributions to those changes along the way. You choose how you want to be a part of the change!

How are you open and honest?
By being myself in all spaces and proudly representing my Queer Latina Feminist identity! It’s not always easy (or safe) for everyone to be themselves so for those of us who can be open and out, that representation is important and can make a difference in how others see our various communities.

Change can be positive or negative depending on the situation. I am an optimist, so I tend to look at each situation with a positive lens. Through each situation, I brace and prepare for multiple outcomes and adapt to the changing path.
