To be eligible for a Medicare Supplement plan, you must have Medicare Parts A and B through Original Medicare.
Original Medicare Members
If you have Original Medicare, you can enroll in a Medicare Supplement plan anytime in New York State.
Medicare Advantage Members
If you are currently in a Medicare Advantage Plan you will only be able to leave at certain times of the year.
You cannot have both a Medicare Supplement Plan and a Medicare Advantage plan at the same time.

Note: If you had prescription drug coverage with your Medicare Advantage plan, and you are considering a Medicare Supplement plan, you will need to sign up for a Prescription Drug plan (Part D) to maintain your drug coverage going forward.

If you are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan and enroll in a Prescription Drug Plan (PDP), you will be automatically disenrolled from your Medicare Advantage Plan
